  • Audio book for Lyddie

    Several students have asked if Lyddie is available to listen to and the answer is yes.

    You can download an app for your smart phone using the following address to listen to Lyddie;

  • Retakes

    There are many students in 1st, 4th and 6th periods that have not attempted to do a retake over the vocabulary and definitions. I provided you a link that you could use to practice with to learn them.

    If you need to do a retake of the spelling of the vocabulary, you will need to write each of the terms that you mispelled 10 times each. This lets me know that you are ready to do a retake. If you failed the part for the definitions of those vocaulary words, you must write the ones you missed. You may come in of the mornings except on Wednesday or this Friday as language arts has duty of those days.

    Time is running out for the third nine weeks! Remember you cannot go back into the nine weeks once it has ended to do retakes for turn in late assignments!

  • Lyddie PDF file

    If you should forget to take your class copy of Lyddie home with you for a homework assignment you can download a pdf copy of Lyddie

  • Morning Tutoring

     You are responsible for your grades. If you need to do retakes for learning targets that you have not mastered, then please come to tutoring in the mornings at 7:30 until 8:00 this week except on Wednesday morning as that is my duty morning. Tutoring will also be available on Thursday.

  • Welcome

    We are continuing the  unit entitled Lyddie. Students were to have read chapters 3 through 6 and assume the role of writer for Lyddie's diary entries. You should have had eight entries for this assignment in your journal. Very few people in 1st, 4th, and 6th periods turned in their journals.

    We will continue for the remainder of the semester to set reading goals each Monday and use the following formula to calculate the number of pages you must read for the week. Number of pages times six equals(answer) times 2. EXAMPLE: 6 pages X 2  X 6 = 72 or you may simply take and multiply the 6 pages X 6 days = 72. All students have a page in their binder to keep up with each weeks reading goal and pages read to be sure they are reaching their reading goal for the class. Students need to choose books of their choice to read for their reading level.

    If you are absent when we go to the library every two weeks, remember you may turn your book in of the morning by placing it in the return slot of the circulation desk and then go select you another book. Place a post it note on it with your name so Mrs. Fitch can check it out to you during first period and you may go between classes to pick it up from her.

    If you have overdue library books, please get them in to Mrs. Fitch or see her about replacement cost of the book(s).
