In this 9-week course, students will focus on basic touch-keyboarding skills and responsible computer use.  They will correspond daily through email and will show a basic understanding of Internet safety (digital citizenship), ethical computer use, opening/closing of files, accessing and saving files to the school server, copying/pasting files or text, and searching the Internet.  They will also work on Career Exploration, Financial Literacy and Employability Skills.  They will use Microsoft Office programs, Google Classroom and various online education programs.  All students must have an Acceptable Use Policy form signed and brought back in order to use the Internet in the classroom.

  • What's going on this week?

In the computer lab, we have been learning correct hand placement on the keyboard.  We are doing typing races to increase our speed and accuracy as we type.  We've also started using Microsoft Word and Google Docs to create documents, and we are having weekly lessons on Internet Safety and Digital Citizenship.

Welcome to your Computer class!  I'm so excited you're here!  Let's have fun learning about and working with technology!
