My name is Ms. Ballman and this is my 8th grade science webpage! I would like to start by telling a bit about myself. I grew up in Nicholasville, Kentucky where I attended Nicholasville Elementary, West Jessamine Middle, and West Jessamine High. I started my teaching career by teaching merit badges at Camp McKee Boy Scout Reservation. I received my teaching degree and certificate through Eastern Kentucky University. I was also the vice president and historian for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I came to Bath county in 2014, and have loved every minute! I previously taught at the Montgomery County Accelerated Academy before joining the BCMS Family. In my spare time, I enjoy knitting, backpacking, rock climbing and even a few video games here and there.
We will be studying a broad range of topis this year, from plate tectonics to how organisms adapt to an ever changing environment. I am very excited to be teaching here and cannot wait to get to know everyone. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. My email and the school phone number is listed above, as well as in my classroom! I will get back to you by the end of the school day. I highly encourage parents to contact me about what is going on in the classroom. Resources and information about the class is off to the left. I will update this page every week on Mondays. Please check back weekly to see information about what is going on.
