Did you know...

While the prefix "quadri" (in Latin) means four, the word "quadrus" means a square (which has four sides). The word "quadratus" means "squared".

In early mathematics, quadratic equations were used in connection with geometric problems involving squares. When you find the area of a square, for example, the area is expressed in "square" units (with the units being raised to the second power). Raising to a power of two is referred to as "squaring", and equations with a power of two are called quadratic equations.

Hello everyone!  This is my 26th year of teaching.  I taught 5 years at Menifee County High School, 8 years at Lexington Catholic High School and this year makes 13 years at Bath County High School.  With all of that, I'm still a long way from retirement!

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics (earning a teaching certificate) from MSU in 1992.  I completed my Master's Degree in Secondary Math Education at MSU in 1996.  I completed my Rank 1 in Educational Leadership while completing a Director of Pupil Personnel Certification and Instructional Supervisor (Level 1) in 2010.  I  completed my Principalship Certification in December 2013, and I have my Educational Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership that was completed in July 2014.  I love learning new things!

I am the Math Department Chairperson and an Adjunct Math Instructor through MSU's  Early College Program.  With this program, students are able to earn dual credit at the college level while completing their high school credits for graduation.  I also teach for MSU at the Mt. Sterling Campus.

I am a married mother to 2 wonderful girls, a member of First Christian Church in Mt. Sterling and I enjoy playing softball, riding horses, reading and following Ladycat volleyball.
