Karen Hammons  

District Assessment Coordinator & Instructional Supervisor 

Karen Hammons received her BA in Elementary and Special Education in 1997, her MA in School Administration in 2003, her Rank I and Instructional Supervisor certification in 2010, her Superintendent certification in 2012, and her Doctorate of Education Administration in 2017.  All of her coursework was completed at Morehead State University.

Dr. Hammons' professional vita includes teaching special education, teaching kindergarten through fourth-grade students, serving as the assistant principal of Bath County Middle School, and currently serves as the District Assessment Coordinator and Instructional Supervisor for the Bath County School district.  Twenty of her twenty-one years in the education profession have been in Bath County.  Additionally, Dr. Hammons has presented at the local, state, and national levels, and enjoys being a part of professional organizations.  She is currently a member of KASA, ASCD, KAAC, Phi Kappa Phi, Delta Kappa Gamma, and KEA. 

To give every student, every day, the promise of possibility... the words in this statement are powerful, and ones that Dr. Hammons seeks to fulfill in her daily interactions with all stakeholder groups.  To her, there is no better profession than one that allows her to be a substantial part of the growth and development of a child into a confident, successful youth who is prepared to interact with an expansive global community.
