The Bath County High School Junior Chef team will be competing at the Kentucky State Fair in August 2017. This will be the second year in a row that a team from BCHS will be competing at the state level of the Junior Chef Farm to Table competition. This year they will be preparing their dish – Wildcat Grilled Chicken Mac in front of judges from Sullivan University and a crowd of spectators. The team consists of Leann Reed, Lydia Bell, Andy Clark, and team captain – John Wells, Jr.
The competition is sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. High school culinary teams from across Kentucky will be competing with their dishes during the state fair. Dishes that are prepared must meet specific guidelines, which include – being school cafeteria friendly and use of Kentucky Proud products. The overall winning dish will be added to school cafeteria menus across the state. The coaches for the Jr Chef team are Vickie Wells, Lee Ann Ramey and Teresa Lane. The students have worked really hard this year in their performance, having 3 new Freshman is very channeling to learn all area of the kitchen and mastering the recipe. The team captain John Wells Jr. has really worked hard with our incoming Freshman showing excellent leadership.
