Welcome to Mrs. Johnson's reading class.  We use the wonderful Chapter Books and StoryWorks Magazine in this class. My teaching style generally begins with a whole group lesson (with partner work, whole class work, & individual work incorporated) & then students break into centers (2 per day) while I meet with students in small group instruction. We usually spend about 3-4 days in the Chapter Book & 1-2 days with a StoryWorks article. Most of my grades come from classwork & formative assessments. I do not give very many tests. Most of my summative assessments (or tests) in Reading are Unit tests. Generally I have a no homework policy unless students need to finish work not completed in class.
