My name is Tanya Johnson. I am a resident of Bath County, but originally from Knott County in Eastern Kentucky.  I married my wonderful husband, Neil Johnson, last year during Christmas break!  Neil is a Lieutenant with the Kentucky State Police and we both attended the same high school and were best friends a very long time ago.
This is my 16th year teaching and my 15th year at OES.  I have also been the Drama Club Coach for the last 4 years and look forward to another great year of theatre!  I love teaching 4th grade and working with my wonderful 4th grade team.
I am also a proud parent of two college graduates. I have a 21-year-old daughter named Kaitlyn who just graduated from Morehead State University and a 22-year-old son named Keegan who just graduated from the University of Kentucky and is now a medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Morehead State University.  I also graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Morehead State University.  In 2013, I earned my Rank 1 and National Boards Certification in the area of Middle Child Generalist.

I try to keep my students' families informed about what is going on at school through Class Dojo.  Our 4th grade team uses Class Dojo for all communication about upcoming events, homework, assignments, parties, and more! Listed above is my contact information, and you can reach me during my planning time every weekday or through email; however Class Dojo is the fastest and easiest way to reach me.  I look forward to meeting and working with all my new students and their families this year.
